You will know when you have gum disease because of the following symptoms: redness or swollen gums, tender and sensitive teeth, bleeding and receding gums. Children when they are not trained to regularly clean up or wash their teeth and when they refuse to brush their teeth before going to school or before going to bed plaque starts to accumulate in their mouth. Aside from regular brushing of your teeth and dental cleaning when you visit your dentist, another gum disease treatment that you can use is gargling antiseptic mouthwash to remove dirt stored in your mouth. This will help freshen up your breath and at the same time it prevents you from having bad breath.  Moreover, if you can no longer brush your teeth because of time constrain or you forgot to bring your toothbrush, you can chew sugar-free chewing gum. Alternatively, you can use toothpick if you really do not have anything with you. However, it is not advisable to use this because it may damage your teeth and gums if not used properly.

Therefore, it is very important that you make it a habit to brush your teeth.
